Kids say shocking, funny, sweet, wonderful, insightful, deep things. I am often caught off guard when the phrase is uttered, but I am thankful for the ways I am inspired or, quite often, amused by their words. I have decided to share a quote each week. If you have a good quote to share, please do so in the comments.
I love you more
Breakfast talk. You never know what will come up. There's the questions about plans for the day. There's talk about how we slept and about dreaming. This morning, we had a little love-fest competition. You know, the kind that is always one-upped.
Babycakes: I love you.
Me: I love you more than you love me.
Babycakes: I love you more than you love me more.
I got trumped
Usually, I get her with the “I love you more” pronouncement. She trumped me with her statement. Secretly, I know I love her more. (She won't understand the depth of a mother's love until she is a mother. This mother love starts even before the first heartbeat. Mothers, you know.) Today, she needed to win the love-more battle. We ate our cereal perfectly happy. This was a great way to start the day–even before coffee.
