Five Minute Friday: Time

The word for today is time. It's funny how today slipped away from me, and I am just now able to write. Before today is no longer today, here is my take on time.

Time, you are not my enemy. But more than I'd like to admit, I fight against you as if we were enemies. I look at you and try to figure out ways I can cheat you by doing more things at once. As smart as I think I am with that trick of mine, time slips through my fingers.

I use technology to help me fit more into my day. But there are times when technology is wasting my day.

I try to manage you better, time, but I need to change how I look at you.

Time, you are a gift. Every second I have on this earth living and breathing is a gift. A gift to love and live for God. You are his gift to me.

Time, can we be friends at least? I'll try to not cheat or cut corners. I'll try not to rush ahead to the future in my mind or dawdle away my today mulling over regrets or old wounds from the past. I want to soak in the tick, tick, tick of time here and now.

Five Minute Friday

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.

2. Link back here and invite others to join in.

3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you and encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community.

    Hi Cheryl!

We are kindred spirits with the time thing (and I’m sure many more can relate). It is true that time is a gift, but we treat it like something to be conquered. And I also agree that technology is a time waster–a time thief!

I pray that you (and I, and everyone else reading!) have a wonderful day that is full of time used wisely!

A day “full of time used wisely” sounds like a very good day. Maybe I should make a wall hanging that says “time used wisely” as a reminder—I’m so easily sidetracked. 😉
Thank you for visiting and your encouragement.
