Five Minute Friday: Plan

The word for today is plan.

Plan

Goals a great. SMART goals are better. But even the best of goals will fall flat without a plan. Without a plan, the goal is just a dream. It’s a someday-that-would-be-nice fantasy. Plans put feet to a goal. It’s a path. It’s direction. It is the 1, 2, 3 and the A, B, C.

Good planning will make or break a goal before the first step is made. Some people plan from A to Z. That is considering what must happen first and then second to get closer to the goal. Others plan from Z to A. That is thinking in the same way, but backards. Z to A is best if the “A” is hard to find.

Brainstorm ideas–even crazy ideas–when thinking through a plan. Some of the best plans are creative and out-of-the box. They need to be doable. Regardless, if there is a goal, a good plan must go with it.

What goal do you have that needs a plan?

I have a personal goal that I need a plan to make that goal realized. I need someone to help me work on a plan. Sometimes getting advice is a first step in working on plan. Getting feedback on your plans are excellent as well. Plan to succeed by planning.

Five Minute Friday

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.

2. Link back here and invite others to join in.

3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you and encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community.
